€380,000 secured for accessibility works in Castlebar
Fine Gael Leader, Enda Kenny TD, has welcomed the move by Mayo County Council to invest €380,000 in improving accessibility throughout Castlebar. The money will fund the provision and improvement of pedestrian crossings, special paving, the removal of any significant obstructions on footpaths, and properly dropped kerbs.

There was an overwhelming response to Fine Gael’s survey asking the Government to retain the medical card for the over 70s, which was conducted across much of the country last weekend. Councillor Jarlath Munnelly, who was himself involved in the petition in Ballina, described the response as “overwhelming”.
New Year road works for Newport Road
Fine Gael Leader Enda Kenny TD has been informed by Mayo County Council that the restoration works on Newport Road between the Newtown traffic lights and the Dun Beg estate junction have been approved and will be carried out in the near future. Owing to the Christmas season, it is likely that the works will be carried out in the New Year.
Kenny encourages people to check if they’re registered to vote
Fine Gael Leader, Enda Kenny TD, has encouraged every person in Mayo who is eligible to vote to check if they are on the Register of Electors. In advance of every election, many people believe they are on the register, however, when they receive no polling card, they realise that they are not on the register and it may be too late to be added.
Labour ticket to be decided today
