You would imagine there is very little more than can be written about Mayo and Dublin's rivalry over the past seven years.

It was an occasion like we have never experienced, it was a performance that we have become somewhat accustomed to, it was a result we could only have dreamed of. It was a proper Mayo day.

A sobering defeat to Dublin has Galway on the back foot facing into this weekend’s Allianz Football League round three fixture against Monaghan in Inniskeen on Sunday (2pm).

This Sunday the Galway senior footballers take on All-Ireland champions Dublin in Croke Park in the Allianz Football League division one final (4pm).

There is huge excitement and anticipation ahead of next Sunday’s All-Ireland football final. The stakes are massive for both counties.

Mayo suffered a crushing and embarrassing 12 point defeat at the hands of All-Ireland champions Dublin last Saturday. Dublin, having drawn their last two games which they easily could have lost, had me fully convinced it was set up for Mayo to end their great two and half year and 32 game unbeaten run in league and championship.
