It is that time of year again when staff at the four star Ardilaun hotel, Taylor’s Hill are busy preparing for another busy Galway Race Week Festival. One of the highlights this year will be a unique event in conjunction with the National Breast Cancer Research Institute (NBCRI) with lunch, fashion, and races fever on Tuesday July 26 at the hotel, with proceeds on the day going to this very worthy charity.

Ballybrit Racecourse will play host to two days of National Hunt racing this Bank Holiday weekend as the October Galway Races get under way on Sunday. The Galway Advertiser will be giving away some pairs of tickets to the meeting in conjunction with the Galway Race Committee and Renvyle House Hotel who are sponsoring a race at Ballybrit on Sunday.

The Autumn meeting of the Galway Races begins this Saturday August 28 for three days. One of the highlights of the racing festival will be the Ardilaun Hotel-listed Oyster Stakes,which is now in its nineteenth year, takes place on the last day of the races, Monday August 30. The Ryan family of the Ardilaun Hotel first became associated with this prestigious race in 1991 and have continued their support over the years.

The countdown has begun to the Galway Races and this year’s Summer Festival kicks off with the Galway’s Best Hotels Day, with all seven races sponsored by Galway’s leading hotels and the feature race of the day the carlton.ie/galwaycity (Q.R) Handicap.

Next Monday week Ballybrit will reverberate to the sound of hooves as the annual summer festival of racing at Galway starts again.
