NUI Galway engineering maths qualifying exam offers Leaving Cert students a second chance

The College of Engineering and Informatics at NUI Galway has announced details of this year’s engineering maths qualifying exam, which gives students a second chance to pursue a career in engineering. The exam, which takes place on Wednesday, August 22, is for students who achieve the CAO points for an undergraduate engineering degree course at NUI Galway but who have not met the obligatory maths requirement.

Pioneers of wellbeing in Irish schools, Dr Ann Caulfield and Derval Dunford of Mindfulness Matters, have just released a video giving teachers' and children’s perspectives on the difference that simple practices can make to anxiety, worry, concentration, and the overall classroom climate. It is fitting that 2018 is the 300 year (Tercentenary) celebration of the birth of Nano Nagle, the founder of the Presentation Sisters. The Presentation Sisters are to be thanked for their pioneering work in establishing and cultivating a centre of excellence in education that the town of Athenry has benefited from.
