Midway through a Leinster Senior League Senior Division 1A campaign which has realised nine wins from fourteen games played to date and a current second place standing, Willow Park look primed to achieve successive divisional promotions should such positive form continue into the new year.

The old adage ‘two out of three ain’t bad’ proved true for Willow Park at the weekend as double success was garnered for the club’s Over 35s squad and CCFL team in their respective cup competitions. However, the DPD Park based first team bowed out of the Metropolitan Cup in the first round as opponents, Newtown Rangers, overcame a three goal half time deficit to advance to next stage of the competition.

A Leinster Senior League local derby is the highlight of the local football scene this weekend as Willow Park entertain Mullingar Athletic at DPD Park on Friday night (kick off 8pm).
