An Easter scavenger hunt will take place in Coole Park on Easter Sunday.

Coole Park will hold a free family event to celebrate the start of the festive season on Sunday December 9. The event, which will take place in the Coole Park Visitor Centre and tea rooms from 2pm to 4pm, will feature stories, winter scavenger hunts, and a visit by Santa.

Coole Park Visitors’ Centre will play host to drama, music, and heritage events this week as part of the Coole Park Winter Programme. All events in the programme are free due to funding received from Galway County Council and the Heritage Council.

Coole Park will this evening play host to a production of The World’s Wife by Mephisto Theatre as part of the Coole Spring Cultural Programme.

The biannual series of cultural events at Coole Park is now drawing to a close but there are still a few events to look forward to before the end of the programme.

The Coole Park biannual series of cultural events continues this winter with a feast of culture for the upcoming Winter Arts and Heritage Programme 2009. The programme aims to integrate arts, culture, and education with a series of events for adults, young people, and families. Environment and heritage lectures, children’s drama and Lady Gregory plays, traditional Irish, Mexican, and classical music, creative writing, children’s outreach workshops, and an art exhibition by The Orchard Gort, all feature in the exciting programme of events taking place between now and December.

There will be an international flavour to the music series at Coole Park over the next few days as part of the Coole Park Winter Programme. Tonight (Thursday) Coole will host a concert of Mexican music by The Gringo Stars from 8pm to 9pm.

The Coole Park Winter Programme of events continues tomorrow from 8pm to 9pm when Athenry Drama Group perform two Lady Gregory one-act plays: The Workhouse Ward and Dave. Athenry Drama group is more than 100 years in existence, having performed on the local and national circuit it has had many successes with several renowned plays.

THE Spring element of the Coole Park Cultural Programme was launched this week and includes a wide range of lectures as well as performances by singer songwriter Julie Feeney and All-Ireland talent show star Emma O'Sullivan.
