An Cathaoirleach of the County of Galway, Cllr Martina Kinane is hosting this year’s Cathaoirleach Charity Ball on Saturday, June 7 in the Raheen Woods Hotel, Athenry to help raise much needed funds for two very worthy beneficiaries, Oranmore Maree Coastal Search Unit and Hand in Hand – Children’s Cancer Charity.

Around 200 children are diagnosed with cancer in Ireland each year. Hand in Hand, Children’s Cancer Charity is a Loughrea-based charity who work with families nationally looking after the ordinary while families deal with extraordinary circumstances.

The staff of Ashford Estate which takes in Ashford Castle and The Lodge at Ashford raised almost €12,000 for the Hand in Hand charity last year.
