One of my abiding memories of Brían Bourke is of the day I visited him at his home with my two daughters who were then aged seven and five. Magnificent seven for Mayo AC

Mayo AC were represented by a team of 24 (13 women and and 11 men) at the National 10k Championships recently. More than 500 club athletes competed for medals in team and individual age categories. The Mayo AC contingent included five teams - senior women, over 35 men, over 50 men, and two teams of women over 50. It was another great day for the club, continuing their success in national competitions over many years, and in terms of medals won they were the top club in Connacht with seven of their 24 runners winning medals.
