The 2011 RTÉ All Ireland Drama Festival was officially launched at the Abbey Theatre on Wednesday night at a glittering reception attended by Minister for Arts, Heritage and Gaeltacht Affairs, Jimmy Deenihan. Guests also included Judge Bryan McMahon, chairman of the Board of the Abbey Theatre and RTÉ director general Noel Curran, as well as representatives from the participating groups, the festival’s organising committee, and other drama personalities. This May Bank Holiday weekend, cycling enthusiasts, and novices alike will rally in the streets for Cycle4Haiti 2011, a 225km cycle from Dublin’s GPO to Eyre Square, Galway which aims to raise €100,000 for the Soul of Haiti Foundation.

The Athlone Agri Show committee are delighted to announce a new addition to their line-up this year - the ‘Made in the Midlands’ Food Village. There will also be a wide range of cookery demos covering everything from fast food on a budget to healthy kids’ meals given by local and professional chefs.
