Along with much laughter, Galway Comedy Festival 2025 is set to provide a major economic boost to the city with a multi-million euro boost. In a world desperately in need of a laugh, funny business can also be serious business.

Mayor Mike Cubbard has welcomed the use of the city's idle Pálás Cinema for the annual Galway Comedy Festival later this month, which will include a strong Irish language element for its 2025 edition.

Imagine such seasoned comedy pros as Jack Dee, Dylan Moran, and Omid Djalili, and fast-rising stars like Aoife Dunne and Rachel Galvo all in one city during the same week?

The 2025 festival runs from Tuesday, October 21, to Monday, October 27, and features comedic heavyweights including Rhod Gilbert, Dylan Moran, Deirdre O’Kane, Jack Dee, and Omid Djalili.

Culture Night, an event to celebrate the rich and diverse culture in Ireland, takes place tomorrow Friday, September 19, from 4pm.

The full programme for this year’s Galway Comedy Festival will be revealed tomorrow (Friday). In the meantime, organisers have revealed that the Pálás Cinema will be a key venue for this year's festival, which runs from October 21 to 27.
