Open Invitation to crime prevention and safety talk

A presentation on home security will be held in the Educate Together School, Mullingar on Saturday July 28 at 6.30pm. The talk aims to increase awareness about crime prevention and safety in the area. An invitation has been especially issued to all members of the Asian community, however anyone can attend, and admission is free.

Guest speaker, Sergeant John Connolly, Crime Prevention Specialist for the Westmeath Garda Division will be on hand to answer any questions and provide expert advice on keeping your home and neighbourhood safe. Sgt Connolly’s experience in this field makes him the perfect host for such an event, with his talks always proving to be both informative and interesting. The night will not just be a presentation on security, as Sgt Connolly plans to open the floor to “general discussion on health and safety”.

An apparent increase in the number of burglaries in the area has been the catalyst for taking action and organising the event. The hope is that the message of safety will be spread between friends, neighbours, and family within the South East Asian community, with this helping to prevent any further incidents. Any residents of the area who are free on the night are encouraged to go in order to get valuable advice on promoting a safer and more secure place to live.
