Mullingar service station cleans up at Maxol retail awards

Millie Walsh, who runs Mullingar Service Station, Mullingar was a big winner at the recent Maxol Retail Awards 2008. Millie took home three awards on the night: Top Forecourt Standards Retailer for a Company Owned Site; first place in the Staff Team Awards for a Company Owned Site; and was also in a remarkable seven-way tie for first place in the Top Toilet category!

Judging is conducted via formal inspections by Maxol senior management at participating Maxol stations throughout the year. In addition an independent agency conducts mystery motorist visits to observe and report on the quality of service offered to customers.

Commenting on Millie from Mullingar Service Station’s excellent success at the awards, Des Duffy, Maxol’s Retail Manager, said:

“Congratulations to Millie Walsh and his team for winning Top Forecourt Standards Retailer for a Company Owned Site. This is a really great achievement and one of which they can all be extremely proud. The award scheme was originally developed in 1992 to ensure that customers can expect the best from Maxol, including quality retailing and premium customer care and that the best levels of service and amenities are maintained on Maxol forecourts. This award along with his other two wins acknowledges Millie’s commitment to achieving this goal.”

The team at Mullingar service station performed particularly well throughout the year, achieving top results in both inspections and mystery motorist visits. Under the judging criteria, all competing service stations are assessed for forecourt, car wash, shop, and toilet standards.The various award winners for 2008 were announced at the Annual Retailer Conference in Athlone.
