Community organisations from Athlone and South Westmeath have received significant funding under the Community Services Programme (CSP ) which is administered by the Department of Rural and Community Development.
Athlone Community Radio Company, ATK Community Centre Company, Moate Community Development Community Association, Midland Warmer Homes Company and the Midlands Amenity Park Limited were the beneficiaries of Government monies following the recent announcement.
Welcoming the announcement, Deputy Kevin ‘Boxer’ Moran expressed his gratitude to Government colleague Deputy Michael Ring who has community initiatives perennially to the fore.
“I would like to thank Minister Ring for his support of my constituency following my representations to him on the importance of the funding for so many local organisations,” Deputy Moran remarked.
The CSP supports community-based organisations delivering vital services through a social enterprise model. It provides a contribution towards the cost of employing staff in CSP supported organisations.
