In what promises to be a great night of old school grunge music in Castlebar next Friday May 20 Ireland's greatest Pearl Jam Tribute (Pearl Jem) come to play The Garbo's venue in Castlebar. It has been 25 years since the release of one of the greatest grunge albums of all time Ten, the album itself was released on the last day of August 1991. So in order to celebrate Finbar Hoban Presents... will be bringing one of Ireland’s most recognised Pearl Jam Tribute bands to the Garbo’s venue in Castlebar.

Birds Euroshow Funfair returns for its annual visit to the Military Barracks in Castlebar on Thursday April 28. The funfair will be held in association with Castlebar Boxing Club.

The boxing club has promoted funfairs and carnivals in Castlebar since the 1970s when it was used as a way of raising funds to purchase and refurbish its building on the Mall. The historic building was formerly Lord Lucan’s rent house and later a Church of Ireland school.
