Linenhall Film Club brings its successful spring 2016 programme to a close on Tuesday June 7 at 8pm with The Lobster, a wonderfully off-the-wall finale and a film that will stay with you long after the lights go up. Winner of the Jury Prize at Cannes Film Festival, this deliciously surreal film from Yorgos Lanthimos (Dogtooth) in his English language debut, stars Colin Farrell and Rachel Weisz and was filmed entirely in Ireland.

Westport four-piece The Halloran Brothers perform at the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar on Thursday June 16 at 8pm. Expect a vibrant evening of rhythm ‘n’ blues and rock ‘n’ roll, with a dash of country and jazz when guitarist and songwriter Liam Halloran presents an evening of original songs performed by the hugely popular Halloran Brothers.

The band’s line-up is completed by brothers Michael (electric bass), and Joseph (drums), and Bartholomew De Boer (keyboards and piano). The Hallorans are back for another great night after their previous enthusiastically received full-house foray at the Linenhall. Newest band member Bartholomew De Boer had his own music recently featured as part of last year’s The Magic of Mayo Cine Concert, funded by the Arts Council.
