A thriving new business based in Westport providing locally based technical engineering services to multi-national manufacturing clients is to be officially launched by Enda Kenny on Monday December 20 next.

From last April until now seems like the blink of an eye, but in that time a major brand new musical has been honed, cast, marketed and brought to the stage in the west of Ireland. Yes, the much-heralded dramatic musical in two acts, On a Wing and Prayer launched boldly into the public sphere for three nights last night Thursday, November 25 and will run until tomorrow Saturday November 27, at the Royal Theatre, Castlebar. Some Attachments and Severance, an exciting exhibition of bronze sculptures and drawings by Mayo-based sculptor Rory Breslin, continues at the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar for the month of September. Two top guitarists will be performing at the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar in the coming weeks. On Thursday September 23 at 8pm, American fingerstyle guitarist Richard Gilewitz presents his acclaimed show Acoustic Adventures, a dazzling and illuminating excursion through European, contemporary and Spanish classical works to the traditional, folk, blues, and American primitive eras. Acoustic Adventures is a journey into the past and present realm of the guitar, a sound tunnel of timeless musical history that has received standing ovations around the globe. And, boy, can he play.
