Coláiste Néifinn is now enrolling for 2013 courses

Coláiste Néifinn is an Irish summer college in Castlebar that caters for the learning of the Irish language for 12 to 18 year olds. This college is bringing to life our native language in a new and innovative way. The co-ordinators are two local Irish teachers, and they will be assisted by a range of experienced teachers. All the teachers have taught in several Gaeltacht colleges and bring a plethora of knowledge and hands on experience to Coláiste Néifinn.

Eighty nine new jobs were created in the Mayo Gaeltacht

A total of 89 new jobs were created in the Mayo Gaeltacht in 2012, a net gain of 36 new jobs on the previous year. This was revealed in a statement issued by Anna Ní Ghallachair, chairperson, and Steve Ó Cúláin, chief executive, Údarás na Gaeltachta.

Three Connemara audiovisual companies receive €900,000 in broadcasting grants

Three of its Connemara-based companies, Meangadh Fíbín Teo (Indreabhán), Magamedia Teo (Na Forbacha), and Sónta Teo (Cill Chiaráin), have been allocated grants totalling more than €900,000 in funding by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland from Sound & Vision II, the Broadcasting Funding Scheme.
