In recognition of European Maritime Day and World Oceans Day, the Marine Institute and partners are celebrating our seas, our world’s shared ocean and our connection to the sea through their Oceans of Learning series. Over 10 weeks, the Marine Institute and partners are coming together virtually to share news and offer online activities and resources on a range of marine topics to make it easier for those of all ages to engage with our ocean from home.

The Marine Institute's Research Facility in Furnace, Newport, will open its doors to primary school students this week, and hold an open day this Sunday April 14 from 11am to 4pm.

This year the Marine Institute and Galway Advertiser are celebrating our ocean with the launch of a new awareness campaign, Exploring Our Marine. The campaign aims to inspire a new generation of ocean champions and inform society on the value of Ireland’s marine resource, the importance of our ocean and the work of the Marine Institute.
