Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim Education and Training Board (MSLETB) and Donegal Education and Training Board presented awards and certificates to the graduates of a variety of craft apprenticeship programmes at the Landmark Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim on November 18.

GMIT has secured circa €1.8 m from the Higher Education Authority to increase the number of apprenticeship courses at its Galway (Dublin Road) and Letterfrack campuses from September 2021.

GMIT has created a new Department of Engineering Apprenticeships and has appointed James Boyle as the new head of department. The move comes in response to growing demand and in line with the Government’s recently launched Action Plan for Apprenticeship 2021 – 2025.
