Planning for Mayo Pride well under way

Planning and fundraising is in full swing for the first Mayo Pride which will take place from July 21 to 23. Taking the lead on this event is Cathy Blake, the current chairperson of OutWest, an LGBT+ social and support group based in the west of Ireland. “OutWest will be 20 years old this year and what more a fitting tribute to its founder members than being part of the first ever Mayo Pride,” said Cathy.

Dramatic increase in dogs rehomed in Westmeath

The number of dogs euthanised in Westmeath fell from 317 in 2011 to 45 in 2015, thanks to the efforts of staff and volunteers in the county dog pound in Mullingar.
