A young father was told that he should be spending money on his children and not on drugs when he appeared before Galway District Court charged with possession of cocaine.

A 27-YEAR-OLD Oranmore man has spent more of his life taking drugs than he has lived without them, his defence solicitor told Galway District Court.

“Young people may think it’s just a bit of cannabis or cocaine, but they need to take into consideration what the consequences of a drug conviction are for them, not only for their health but for education and travel as well.”
