Once again, the entire city will be positively electric with excitement, with over fifty very special and unique cultural events happening across multiple venues for Culture Night on Friday September 22. Experience entire street transformations, innovative theatre, candlelit concerts and visual arts. Learn new skills including sign language, juggling, origami, boatbuilding and even try your hand at the harmonica! Gain a better understanding of Galway’s growing international communities including Spanish, African and nomadic cultures. Events run all day and into the night in our ‘Culture Night Late’ programme. All activities are available completely free of charge supported by the Arts Council and Galway City Arts Office.

Galway Arts Centre’s Nuns Island Theatre will this weekend host an array of events - for young people and by young people - covering theatre, film, visual arts, and literature - as part of Cruinniú na nÓg 2023.

Culture Night is Ireland’s national celebration of culture, creativity and the arts. It takes place all over Galway city and county on Friday 21st September and sparkles well into the night. From Bofin to the Bridge of Banagher, from Bearna to Ballybane and beyond, dozens of entrancing, beguiling and enjoyable events are talking place in a truly brilliant programme that showcases the creative communities and landscapes of Galway, European Capital of Culture. The offerings this year – performances, workshops, exhibitions, concerts, classes, talks, walks and much more for all ages in every conceivable area of creativity - look to be the most exciting ever, and everything is free, brought to you with love from Galway! FREE MUSIC workshops for children, teenagers and adults will take place in the Galway Arts Centre, Dominick Street, on Culture Night, which takes place this Friday, and culminating in a free concert in the venue's galleries.
