The national profile of young Westport entrepreneur Liam Printer continues to grow as hundreds of thousands of listeners tuned in to his interview live in studio on Today FM’s Ray D’Arcy Show on Tuesday. Liam is the current Irish National Snowboard Champion having won two gold medals at The Irish Ski and Snowboard Championships in France. He is also a director and head of ;anguages at the highly successful FETAC accredited national training and education provider, The Learning Curve Institute, which he set up with his business partner in 2009. He has now started a spin off product of The LCI with his “Learning Curve Camps” where students from all over the world gather together in the Alps to learn languages in a full immersion environment, ski or snowboard with The Irish National Snowboard Champion, and come home with an internationally recognised FETAC accredited certificate in the language they are studying.

The hunt for the Midlands Next Top Model came to a glittering end this weekend with Athlone native Darren King being awarded the coveted title. Darren, together with the 10 finalists who were selected from the numerous entries received at the open casting sessions in early May, took to the red carpet in Athlone Towncentre over the weekend as part of the finale which was held as part of Athlone Towncentre’s summer fashion highlights show.

Local entrepreneurs through to final of National Film Production Competition

Thankless Films, the brainchild of two young Kilkenny entrepreneurs, has made it through to the final four of a prestigious National Film Production Competition. The company, created in January this year by local men Dermot Tobin and Dave Minogue, has shot to success as a finalist in Storyland, RTE’s annual competition to find Ireland’s best online drama series.
