NUI Galway is leading on a health intervention research trial involving people with more than one long-term medical condition, thanks to a new cross-border Healthcare Intervention Trials in Ireland Network (CHITIN).

At this time of year colds and flus are very common. “Colds and flu have similar symptoms such as stuffy nose, cough, sore throat, and fever which can make people feel unwell,” says pharmacist Audrey Kinahan of University Late Night Pharmacy. "The flu is more serious and sometimes may lead to more serious complications such as pneumonia. It can be much more serious for some groups of patients including pregnant women and the elderly who should seek medical attention.”

Men’s health clinician Aoife Ni Eochaidh, chartered physiotherapist, has announced details of the upcoming Men’s Health Seminar. The seminar will take place on November 5 in the Ardilaun Hotel, from 7pm to 9pm. Attendance is €10 payable at the door. Tea and coffee is included and a free raffle.
