Ireland West Airport figures expected to pass 720,000 customers for year

Ireland West Airport enjoyed a 14 per cent increase in passenger numbers during the summer period with over 360,000 passengers using the airport between June and October. The airport is on track to record the busiest year in the airport’s 30-year history with annual passenger numbers set to exceed 720,000 for the first time.

Ireland West Airport was delighted to announce that last Friday, it welcomed the 10 millionth passenger to use the airport since it officially opened in 1986. Lorna Conway from Athlone, who was travelling to Edinburgh with Flybe for a wedding with her parents, was the lucky 10 millionth passenger and on checking in for her flight today was greeted with champagne, a specially designed Lily O'Brien gift hamper, and a pair of return flights to Edinburgh, to mark the occasion.

Record number of passengers travel through Ireland West Airport Knock in September

Ireland West Airport Knock recorded another major milestone last month experiencing its busiest ever month of September, with a total of 64,011 passengers passing through the airport terminal. Passenger numbers using the airport's seven UK services increased by 10 per cent, while numbers using continental European services to such destinations as Alicante, Malaga, Faro, Tenerife, and Lanzarote increased by 12 per cent, contributing to a record month for the airport.
