Mayo non-profits encouraged to apply for €125,000 Coca Cola fund

Non-profit organisations in Mayo are reminded to apply to the €125,000 Coca-Cola Thank You Fund before the July 19 closing date. The fund is supporting non-profits which promote balanced, healthy and active living in local communities on the island of Ireland, including sports clubs. Organisations are urged to apply for funding for projects that take an innovative approach to promoting fitness and nutrition. One organisation will received €25,000 and 10 others will receive €10,000 each.

Ballyhaunis centre awarded €8,000 from Ulster Bank

The Ballyhaunis Family Resource Centre has been awarded €8,000 in funding as part of the Ulster Bank Community Impact Fund. Launched in February, in association with the Community Foundation for Ireland, voluntary and community organisations were invited to submit applications for funding.

Ulster Bank branches to close

The Ulster Bank is to close up to 40 branches in its latest round of cuts. However in a statement to the Mayo Advertiser a spokesperson for the bank has confirmed there are “no new job losses” as part of this announcement. Ulster Bank is implementing a programme, announced in 2012, to reduce staff numbers by 950 across the business. In a statement the bank said: “The remaining decrease in headcount should be met through natural attrition over the remaining course of the strategic plan. We continue to keep our costs under review.”

Coca-Cola Ireland today launched the 2013 Coca-Cola Thank You Fund (The Fund). The Fund, now in its third year, is once again making €125,000 available to eligible non-profit organisations on the island of Ireland. The fund is inviting applications from non-profit organisations, charities and community groups who are seeking support to develop new and innovative projects or initiatives that encourage communities to lead more balanced, healthy and active lives.
