Galway and Cork have become the defining rivalry of modern camogie, repeatedly pushing one another to new standards on the sport’s biggest stage. Seven of the last nine All-Ireland senior titles have been shared between the west and Leeside. On Sunday, one of them will add another chapter to a rivalry that continues to shape the current era of the game.

“It can be a bit of a loner’s business all this doodling” jokes cartoonist Jim Cogan. “We’re just sitting at home in our studios. At least a festival gets us out to look at each other.”

An atmospheric drama as the nights draw in is the opening play for Athlone Little Theatre’s 2019-20 season. Conor McPherson’s 'The Weir' will open for business tonight, Thursday, September 12, and will run for eight performances until Thursday September, 19.

The critically acclaimed and award-winning play Remember to Breathe comes to the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar on Monday February 18 at 8pm.
