Join fundraiser Ronan Scully on 100k trek to raise funds for Gorta Self Help Africa

Ronan Scully, winner of Operation Transformation in 2011 and well known for his fundraising work with Gorta Self Help Africa, is undertaking a Camino de Santiago walk this summer to raise much needed funds to address hunger in communities across Africa supported by the charity. Mr Scully is looking for volunteers to join him on the walk.

Planning for Mayo Pride well under way

Planning and fundraising is in full swing for the first Mayo Pride which will take place from July 21 to 23. Taking the lead on this event is Cathy Blake, the current chairperson of OutWest, an LGBT+ social and support group based in the west of Ireland. “OutWest will be 20 years old this year and what more a fitting tribute to its founder members than being part of the first ever Mayo Pride,” said Cathy.

Ireland West Airport staff were delighted last week to present a cheque for €30,550 to the airport's three nominated charities for 2016 — Cancer Care West, MS Ireland, and Pieta House. In late 2015, in an initiative by the airport, Ireland West Airport staff voted to select three Irish charities for the inaugural Ireland West Airport Charity of The Year programme for 2016.
