With a sold out Eamonn Deacy Park crowd providing the backdrop, Galway United’s SSE Airtricity League season was terminated by a gorgeous Brandon Kavanagh goal for Bray Wanderers on Sunday.

Sunday was another hectic day on the football fields across the county, with spots in the senior, intermedaite, junior and junior B championships up for grabs - along with a intermediate championship relegation final. 

After the first day of the weekends action in the Mayo GAA Football Championships this weekend, we now know that Knockmore, Mayo Gaels and Kilmeena will be in the senior, intermediate and junior finals respectively - while Balla maintained their status in the senior championship for another year. 

The final four left standing in the intermediate football championship will leave it all on the field this weekend, with a spot in the final up for grabs.

This year's Galway Senior Football Championship semi-finals has again thrown up the familiar pairing of Corofin and Mountbellew-Moylough.
