National Organic Week celebrates the work being done by thousands of food producers all over Ireland who are committed to farming organically. Throughout the week, organic producers, retailers, and farmers’ markets nationwide will host events including organic farm walks, cookery demonstrations, barbecues, harvest feasts, complimentary in-store tastings, and talks.

The Made in the Midlands Food Village at the Athlone Agri Show promises to be an even greater feast for the senses this year with over 20 food stands supplying everything from goat’s milk ice-cream, Irish cheeses, local honey and vegetables, to organic venison burgers, local pork sausages, and delicious wholesome and speciality breads and cakes.

The first Galway Food Festival attracted an estimated 25,000 visitors during the Easter Bank Holiday Weekend. The festival held over 70 individual events at the Festival Village, Fishmarket Square, Spanish Arch and in restaurants and food outlets throughout the city and its environs.
