First and foremost, congratulations and well done to all. No matter how often this day may come to a family, the Leaving Certificate results are a landmark day for each son or daughter, indeed for the entire family. So, again, well done.
The waiting is over and congratulations to all. And now another wait begins with CAO offers published on Monday August 18.
Now that the jubilation of the Leaving Certificate results has started to calm down, it is time this week for students across Galway to find out what their next academic step will be with the first round of CAO offers being released on Monday.
Wednesday saw the weeks and months of mounting pressure lifted for the 1,619 young men and women in Mayo who received their Leaving Cert results. The hard work, the effort, and the bit of luck they were looking for will have hopefully paid off for them, when they opened the envelope as they walked out of their secondary school for the final time. What’s next in store for them will come to pass early on Monday when the first round CAO offers come through their letterbox or the nervous click of a mouse or tap on a smart phone if the check online, from the literal crack of dawn, when the offers go live at 6am.
After two months of waiting, 3,107 Galway students are waking up this morning contemplating their future path after receiving their Leaving Cert results yesterday. With first round CAO offers not published until Monday, many will be facing a few more anxious days before they learn if they have gained entry into their chosen course. Two Galway students will face no such quandary however, as Ciaran Doyle of Craughwell and Ruth Cormican from Oranmore were among 10 students in the country who achieved eight A1s.
NUI Galway students’ union will host an information session on higher education maintenance grants in the city next week.
