EssentialSkillz ranked as Galway’s fastest growing tech in Deloitte Fast 50

The recent success of EssentialSkillz in world markets was recognised by Deloitte in their Technology Fast 50 Awards for 2015. The awards, according to Deloitte, demonstrate the strength of the indigenous technology sector in Ireland. Cumulatively, the 2015 Fast 50 winners generated approximately €480 million in total annual revenues in 2014. The average revenue of companies featuring on the ranking was €9.5 million, while the average growth rate of the companies over the last four years was 540%.

Galway born actress Nora-Jane Noone has been revelling in the success of Brooklyn since the film appeared on Irish screens last month. The movie has certainly lived up to its billing, after it caused quite a stir at its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival last January. A bidding war for distribution rights began and Fox Searchlight Pictures sealed the deal for $9 million which was one of the biggest money deals to ever emerge from the festival.

Award winning Castlebar Musical and Dramatic Society is currently in full rehearsal swing for its production of Fiddler on The Roof, which will be staged in the Royal Theatre, Castlebar, over three nights from Thursday December 3 to Saturday December 5.
