A green-fingered Galway clergywoman has been growing vegetables in repurposed containers in an effort to raise awareness of a Christian Aid funded project that’s helping to reduce poverty and malnutrition among low-income families in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi.

Galway carol services raise €1,400 to tackle poverty overseas

A church in Galway city centre has handed more than €1,400 to an overseas aid agency, with the money having been raised during two popular carol services in December. St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church raised the money for Christian Aid Ireland with its annual Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols which draws a large audience to the historic church each year.
