Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport Michael Ring has welcomed the appointment of Noel Kavanagh to the Fáilte Ireland Authority. Mr Kavanagh's term of office will run until May 27 2015.

Cllr Michael Burke who was chairing his last meeting of the council also passed on his sympathies to the family of the late Mr Staunton as did county manager Peter Hynes on behalf of the staff of the council.
