Based in Westside, the Hub is running free events across Galway city until December, offering practical advice on how to upgrade your home and access grants. Some of these grants can even cover the full cost of the work. The service is independent and completely free of charge.

EU project offers free BER assessments to households in Galway’s Decarbonisation Zone

Galway city is participating in the EU NetZeroCities Pilot Cities Programme, a European-funded initiative aimed at supporting cities to reduce their carbon emissions. Galway city’s project focuses on the energy efficiency of homes and a number of ideas, aimed at encouraging homeowners to retrofit their homes, are being trialled in the city’s Decarbonisation Zone, which covers the areas of Westside, Shantalla, Rahoon and Newcastle.
