ICA host personal finance seminar

The Irish CountryWomen’s Association knows that there is a unique relationship between mothers and their daughters, and on Monday, October 14, the Mayo Federation of the ICA will host the latest free seminar in the ICA’s Mother and Daughter Personal Finance Tour conducted by personal finance author and journalist, Jill Kerby. The seminar will take at 8pm in the Welcome Inn, Castlebar.

Poor results for Ballina and Castlebar in latest IBAL survey

The latest survey in the Anti-Litter League by business group Irish Business Against Litter (IBAL) shows Ballina and Castlebar have both lost their cleaner than European norms status in this round, with both now classed as moderately littered. Of 42 towns and cities surveyed this summer, Ballina and Castlebar have dropped from fourth and fifth place respectively to 34th and 35th. IBAL has warned that vacant properties in towns are a growing concern, despite continued progress on litter nationwide.
