More than 30 jobs could be created in Galway after locally-based sports tech company Orreco raised $4 million (€3.4 million) in funding from investors who include billionaire Mark Cuban and announced the acquisition of Australian AI computer vision specialist Data Driven Sports Analytics (DDSA).

Sports performance and data science company Orreco will scale its operations in Ireland, the United States and UK following a €3 million (US$3.6) million investment round led by Silicon Valley-based venture firm True Ventures.

Galway-based company Orreco, which has worked with Olympic athletes and elite professional sports teams around the world, has recently been nominated for the prestigious DatSci Awards.

Orreco, the city-based sports and data science company, will up scale its operations in Galway and the United States following a two million dollar series A investment from Silicon Valley-based venture firm True Ventures.
