It’s The Real McCoy - a side splitting play set in rural Ireland in 1964 - really is a laugh a line and is set in the kitchen of Madge Molloy who has lived over 40 years of her life wondering why her husband Tom vanished within five months of their marriage. Madge has had to rear her only daughter Maura on her own and needless to say she has become bitter about men in general.

Hilarious play It’s The Real Mc Coy returns to the Mullingar Arts Centre

In June 2012 the Mullingar Arts Centre were treated to two sensational nights of sell-out comedy when It’s The Real McCoy rolled into town and the good news is that the play returns for two further performances on Friday February 15 and Saturday February 16 at 8pm.

More than a thousand cuppas served, with many laughs, toe-taps, and fever-pitch football at the Royal last weekend

The Royal Hotel and Theatre enjoyed an action-packed weekend when all hands were on deck for four very successful events. For the crew at the Royal the weekend kicked off on Thursday morning when more than 1,000 cuppas were served to a large audience at the Mayo/Roscommon Hospice Coffee Morning in association with Midwest Radio and The Royal Theatre. The audience were also treated to music and theatre performances throughout the morning, including a scene from the hugely popular It’s The Real McCoy.

The Real McCoy, orgainsed by Balla No Name Club, will be staged in Claremorris Town Hall on September 14 at 8pm.

Comedy drama in Kilmaine

It’s The Real McCoy is a three act comedy drama, written and directed by Tommy Marren, which will be staged in the Kilmaine Community Centre on Friday and Saturday April 20 and 21 at 8pm nightly.
