There’s a packed week at The Snug Bar with great live performances on the stage and on the big screen!

Kicking off a weekend of live music at The Snug are local band Snakebite - playing tonight, Thursday January 29 at 9.30pm.

The Snug Bar, Athlone will continue its tradition of great live music into 2015 with four nights of fantastic bands this weekend.

On Thursday renowned local musicians Jock and Dave play a wide range of songs to suit all musical tastes from the old classics to the current chart toppers.

This Friday November 7 there is only one place to be and that is celebrating in The Snug Bar with Macey South. For those few who are not already familiar with this renowned Athlone band, Macey South is a young energetic three-piece made up of brothers Keith and Liam Flynn and Conor Irwin. Their original mix of traditional Irish music and rock ‘n’ roll never fails to get an audience on their feet. Music kicks off at 10pm.

For those not already familiar with this popular Athlone band, Macey South is a young, energetic three-piece made up of brothers Keith and Liam Flynn and Conor Irwin. Their original mix of traditional Irish music and rock ‘n’ roll never fails to get an audience on their feet. The band’s energy is comparable to The Pogues and Horslips. The instruments range from accordion to electric guitar, with a rasping acoustic guitar and drums driving the melodies on.

AFTER ENJOYING a successful run last September with the play The Three Deaths of Eddie, local company Wolf Meets World return to the Town Hall Studio with its latest offering, A Fig For A Kiss.
