It is rooted in Chinese meditation, medicine, and martial arts, and combines mental concentration with slow, controlled movements to focus the mind, challenge the body, and improve the flow of what the Chinese call ‘qi’ - the life energy thought to sustain health and calm the mind.

Morning and evening classes at Cúram Family Centre

Tai chi classes will begin in Castlebar on September 6 from 7pm to 8pm at Castlebar Sports Complex, An Sportlann in McHale Road, Castlebar.

A magical day at Lá Sugradh in the park

Lá Sugradh, a free Family fun/play day took place last Saturday in THE Castle Park. Organised by Kilkenny County Childcare Committee with partners, Kilkenny Castle, OPW, Kilkenny County Council, Kilkenny Sports and Recreation Partnership and HSE, the event was a rip roaring success according to many of the hundreds of families who attended. The event was hosted to promote outdoor fun as part of the fortnight of events to celebrate National Play Day.
