SuperValu Stores throughout Mayo have teamed up with RTÉ 2fm to launch the nation’s biggest charity toy appeal in association with the St Vincent De Paul Society.

The first of a series of books from new Irish brand Eire’s Kids will be launched in Galway next week. Oisin the Brave — Moon Adventure sees Oisín and his dragon, Orane of N'Scaul, travel through the Dolmen of Time to discover the mystery behind a strange flashing light coming from the surface of the moon. The book will be launched in Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop on Saturday November 24 at 11am.

Westport was just one point behind the winner of the Tidiest Town in Ireland for 2012, which was awarded to Abbeyshrule.

An A-list celebrity line-up will cycle through some of Mayo's most scenic routes ahead of the Help Us to Help Others Cycle Challenge taking place on Saturday September 15. The fun cycle will raise much needed funds for the Mayo Roscommon Hospice.
