Skin cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Ireland, with around 13,000 new cases every year. Very worryingly, this number is projected to double by 2045. However, skin cancer is also one of the most preventable.

Healthy Ireland, HSE, and the Construction Industry Federation, are joining forces to urge outdoor workers to follow the 5S’s of skin protection.

The HSE National Cancer Control Programme (NCCP), Healthy Ireland and partners, have launched a SunSmart campaign, supporting people with simple ways in which they can enjoy the sun safely, while protecting themselves and their family.
