Westport Tourism Organisation (WTO) has announced the publication of its latest book report: Westport – Where Visitors Feel at Home – documenting the findings of a survey of attitudes/opinions of visitors (domestic and international) to Westport and tourism operators/accommodation providers in the host community, conducted by WTO during 2019.

The Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI) has marked Westport’s 250th birthday with a free public talk and guided walk of the town last Saturday. Led by Simon Wall (Westport town architect), a group of culture seekers learned about Westport’s urban regeneration over the past two decades, during which time Westport experienced its largest building programme since Georgian times.

Westport is no stranger to success at national Tidy Towns awards over the years, and next weekend, Friday, March 24 and Saturday, March 25, the town will host the 2017 National Tidy Towns Conference. The conference is a unique opportunity for Tidy Towns groups around the country to learn from and share their experiences with other Tidy Towns communities nationwide. There will also be guidance on the preparation for the 2017 competition and it will feature three lectures from three national tidy town adjudicators.
