Galway athletes produced a series of outstanding performances at the final weekend of the National Juvenile Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Tullamore, with competitors from Galway City Harriers, Craughwell, Athenry, South Galway, Castlegar and Clare River Harriers featuring prominently against the country's best young athletes.

The National Even Ages Juveniles and National Senior Cross Country Championships were held in Templemore Sports Centre, Derry last Sunday, November 23.

The Galway Men’s Team won County Gold for the third year in a row, under manager Siobhan Kelleher, sharing the podium with Donegal and Kerry. The squad were led by Justin Lane, the inspirational captain of the men's team, and he also won the Pole Vault in a fine 2.30m clearance. He was fifth in the weight for Distance Throw.

Lauren Kilduff of Craughwell AC topped the weekend’s performances by becoming U18 National Champion in the 400m Hurdles and broke the Championship record with a time of 60:33. Clubmate Emma O’Donovan took home bronze in 62.44.

The final cross country All Irelands of the year were held in scenic Tramore, on the Racecourse last Sunday. Galway clubs once again secured multiple medals.
