The 17th Galway Science and Technology Festival, part of National Science Week, involving over 180 events and 35,000 primary and secondary school students will take place from November 10-23 this year. This year’s festival will explore and celebrate the ‘Power of Science’ at events in schools, colleges, research institutes, companies and community centres across Galway City and county.
GMIT has welcomed more than 2,000 first year students to its campuses in Galway and Mayo this month, the largest cohort of new students in the institute’s history.
Academic awards will be conferred on some 400 students from the Mayo campus of GMIT today, Friday November 9, in the Royal Theatre, Castlebar.
