Louisburgh students finalists in climate change competition

Transition year students from Sancta Maria College in Louisburgh are one of 20 teams short-listed for Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland’s (SEAI) search for One Good Idea. The One Good Idea campaign is a nationwide competition where post-primary schools devise an innovative campaign to improve awareness levels and understanding of climate change and energy efficiency, and it is organised by SEAI and the Power of One working in partnership with Change.ie

Four Mayo schools in EU public speaking competition

A high level of participation has been shown in the National Forum on Europe’s Transition Year Public Speaking Competition by Mayo secondary schools. Nine schools from Co Mayo entered the competition and with the initial round one heats completed, four schools have been selected to progress to round two.

Sancta Maria in public speaking regional final

The National Forum on Europe’s Transition Year Public Speaking Competition has been completed in Co Mayo. The next stage of the competition is the regional final which will take place in Sligo before Christmas. Sancta Maria College in Louisburgh will be representing Mayo at this stage of the competition where they will be competing against two schools from Cavan and Monaghan.
