The members of the Belmullet Electoral Area Committee gave their go ahead for their section of improvement works to be carried out on the N59 low cost improvement scheme from Westport to Mulranny this week. A Mullingar-based soldier who served two tours of duty abroad with the United Nations and was engaged to be married, was killed in a two-car collision on Saturday June 25 at the N52 junction outside of Belvedere House.
