Westport Covey Wheelers CC is holding the Ras Mhaigheo two day event this weekend, kicking off tomorrow, Saturday March 14, and continuing on Sunday March 15. The Ras Mhaigheo has evolved from a single day event to one of the most popular stage races in the west. Its success over the last few years has been confirmed with sell out numbers and large teams entering high profile riders.

Construction work has commenced on NUI Galway’s new Human Biology Building. The project cost will be in excess of €30m and is funded approximately one third by public exchequer funding including €7m as announced recently in Budget 2015, with the remaining two thirds funded from university sources.
