Mullingar athlete Mark Christie has won the KBC Asset Management St Patrick’s Festival 5k Road Race, which took place in Dublin this week. The Mullingar Harriers AC runner completed the course in a new record time of 00:14:12, clipping two seconds off the previous course record.

Pamela Hughes from Westport AC is nominated following her impressive performances this season. The second annual National Athletics Awards, which are in association with Waterford Crystal, will honour the best Irish athletes, clubs and coaches from across the country.
