Westport volunteer fair

To commemorate the European Year of the Volunteer 2011, the Westport Family and Community Resource Centre has organised a full day event in The Castlecourt Hotel, Westport, on Friday March 11.

New funding for Mayo Volunteer Centre is set to extend the agency’s services on a countywide basis, opening up opportunities both for volunteers and employers requiring volunteers throughout Mayo. The launch of the extended service will take place later this month and mark the opening of a second office for the agency in Castlebar, to add to its existing office in Ballina.

Cosgallen Community Development Project’s Resource Centre has a free information service on social welfare entitlements, health benefits, education and grants, and many forms are available at the centre, e.g. motor tax, driver’s licence, etc. The Resource Centre also has a number of services available such as photocopying, laminating and others at a very low cost. Drop in for a chat or browse at your leisure from Monday to Thursdays from 10am to 4pm and on Fridays by appointment.
